9 SIGNS THAT YOU ARE STRESSED AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT

Stress can manifest itself in many different ways in your life, including physically, emotionally, and cognitively. This is especially visible now, during the war. Everyone tries to cope with it in their own way. Below are some thoughts on this.

How are we supposed to keep up with the demands of life without whining? Or not wanting to turn a corner, or just not jump on a plane and run away to some exotic country? Okay, maybe that's a little dramatic, but trust me, I get it.

Simply put, stress is truly terrifying. Especially when it seems like your life is out of control and you can't do anything about it. But there is something you can do about it, and I'm here to tell you about it. In this article, I will share with you 9 signs of stress and what you can do about it.

1. YOU ARE EASILY ANNOYED AND YOU BREAK UP QUICKLY

Whenever I'm stressed and not in the mood, I can snap quite impulsively. When you have a lot of worries, you usually feel irritated and take it out on others.

What to do about it: When you feel stressed, pause and rest before you talk to someone. It can prevent you from saying things you don't mean. Also, if you know you're in a bad mood, there's nothing shameful about asking the person you're with to give you some space until you calm down. And if you end up screwing up, be thoughtful enough to admit it and apologize.

2. THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MOTIVATION TO PERFORM TASKS

When your life is full of stress, feeling motivated to complete everyday tasks can be very low. Clean the house? Go grocery shopping and cook? Training and learning? These things that require effort may seem impossible. You may feel too lethargic, too tired, or too busy to find the motivation to take action.

What to do about it: Set aside time in your schedule for one small step towards your goal. It should be manageable and realistic (eg spend 30 minutes at the gym a day or exercise 25 minutes a day). Another idea is to find a partner to report to. This will help you stay on track.

3. HEADACHE AND STOMACH PAIN OFTEN OCCUR

Headaches and digestive problems are usually related to stress, and there is actually a lot of scientific research on this. When we do experience stress, our bodies can perceive it as danger and activate the fight-or-flight response. This reaction produces adrenaline, causes the heart to beat faster and the body to tremble. It can even slow down our digestion and affect our blood vessels. As a result, we get headaches, stomachaches and eventually feel exhausted.

4. YOU ARE CONSTANTLY TIRED

Feeling stressed really takes a toll on the mind and body. If your body senses that it is in danger, it will have to work twice as hard to stay alert and keep you safe. It can also be difficult to get a good night's sleep when there are so many thoughts in your head.

What to do about it: Mindfulness and meditation can help you enter this deeper relaxed state. Try listening to a meditation before bed.

5. YOU FEEL THAT YOU WORK SO MUCH, BUT THE RESULT IS NOT PERCEPTIBLE

There is always laundry to do, dishes to wash and food to cook. There is always something to work on and something to plan. When you're stressed, it can feel like you're constantly chasing a finish line that just keeps getting farther away.

What to do about it: Decluttering my home and mind has helped me a lot to deal with everything that is vying for my attention.

Although I am not an avid minimalist, I really love and appreciate minimalism because it allows you to focus on what is really important and remove what is not.

6. YOU NEED TO DO A LOT, BUT HOW TO SET PRIORITIES

It's often hard to know where to start when the to-do list seems long. In the end, you do nothing because deciding what to do first has already taken a lot of energy. This is called analysis paralysis.

What to do about it: One thing that has really helped me is getting over my need to be perfect. If you are a perfectionist, it can be very difficult for you to make decisions and take action because you are so afraid of making mistakes.

7. PROBLEMS WITH SLEEP

You may have trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Or maybe the quality of your sleep is keeping you from feeling refreshed and energized. When you're stressed, your body can't enter the deep, relaxed state you need to feel fully rested.

What to do about it: In addition to meditating, practice deep breathing exercises before bed or keep a journal. When you have a lot of stress, you may not have a constructive way to get rid of it all. By writing everything down, you can free yourself from it. This will give you some clarity on the issues.

8. IT IS DIFFICULT TO CARE ABOUT APPEARANCE

Sweatpants, leggings and a sloppy bun, is this about you? Having the energy and motivation to take care of yourself and look after your appearance can be very difficult when you're stressed! It seems like there are more important things to worry about, and there's nothing wrong with that.
What to do about it: Create a healthy grooming routine.

9. YOU HAVE UNHEALTHY THOUGHTS ABOUT BEING PASSIONATE

Stress can cause anxious thoughts. You may have thoughts like, "I'll never get it all done on time!", or "I want everything to be perfect, but I don't think it will be," or "I don't want to let anyone down!" . These thoughts are normal, but they can cause you great anxiety.

What to do about it: Try practicing positive affirmations. Affirmations are short statements that you repeat to train your subconscious mind. They can help change negative beliefs and help you become more confident and happy.

Stress can have a terrible impact and manifest itself in different ways in your life. Stress can take over your life and make you feel out of control. I hope that identifying these signs of stress has been helpful so that you can take back control and deal with it.
